Pet Supplies Wholesale Guide

A B2B guide to sourcing smart pet products at wholesale prices.

Start With Samples

Order 1–2 samples before committing to a container. A sample lets you verify build quality, the app experience, sensor reliability, and packaging — none of which come through in photos. We ship samples within 7 days and deduct the sample cost from your first bulk order.

Understand MOQ and Pricing Tiers

Smart pet products usually have three price breaks: a trial order of 20 units, wholesale at 200+, and OEM/ODM at 500+ with custom tooling or branding. The unit price drops sharply at each tier, so quote your full-year volume up front — it changes the price per unit. See our MOQ guide.

Verify the Factory

Ask for a live video walkthrough of the production floor, not stock photos. A real factory owns its injection molds and electronics line; a trading company resells and can't show you either. Check our factory vetting checklist.

Request Certifications Up Front

For the US and EU you need FCC, CE, and RoHS at minimum. Get the test reports before you pay a deposit — retesting after you've ordered adds weeks and cost. Our certifications guide lists what each market requires.

Nail Down Payment and Shipping Terms

  • Payment: typically 30% deposit, 70% before shipment (T/T).
  • Terms: EXW (you handle freight), FOB (we load at Ningbo port), or DDP (door-to-door).
  • Lead time: 30–45 days production plus sea freight — plan 2–2.5 months end to end.

Decide: Private Label or ODM

Private label puts your logo on an existing design — fast and low-cost. ODM changes the design or firmware for a unique product, with a higher MOQ and longer lead time. Start private label, then move to ODM once a product proves out.
